You're going out to grab a nice, juicy hamburger for dinner. Do you order one at a nice restaurant, or run through the drive-thru.

Either way it's just a burger, right?

If a hamburger is a hamburger, why is one a dollar and the other over 5 times that?

You already know the answer: The dollar menu burger doesn't even compare – not in quality, not in size, and not in taste.

Do you want quality or do you want cheap, fast, and most likely bad for you?

Like Mom always says: You get what you pay for.

But What's Fast Food Got to Do with Firearms Training?

When I took my "concealed carry class" nearly a decade ago I think I paid some $40 to a local pawn shop – A pawn shop that just so happens to be out of business now, and probably for good reason.

On "training day" I showed up and was shocked to find the class was literally a few hours of group reading, going over the permit application packet one paragraph at a time.

To wrap up the class with a bang, and to satisfy the State's live-fire requirement, we got to shoot one .22LR round, point-blank into a Snail Systems bullet trap. Not even pew pew. Just pew.

I suppose this was a good way for them to save money on ammunition, but I didn't learn the first thing about how to actually shoot. And this class was supposed to qualify me to carry a concealed firearm?

I had officially been introduced to the world of Fast Food Firearms Training – fast, cheap, and bad for my health – and I decided I would spend the upcoming years fighting against it.

The Birth of Trigger Pressers

In 2012 I became certified as an instructor by the National Rifle Association and founded the former Gainesville Firearms Training. After a brief hiatus I brought it back, re-branded as Trigger Pressers, with the plan to expand beyond Gainesville.

I have since also been certified as a Range Safety Officer and a United States Concealed Carry Association Instructor.

NRA and USCCA Certifications

My mission is to ensure no one else falls victim to Fast Food Firearms Training like I did back in 2009. I take pride in knowing we provide some of the highest quality, and most practical firearms training in all of Florida and the United States.

If you are looking for a cheap firearms class so you can rush off and get your permit, I assure you we are not the place.

But if you are ready to learn and have a strong desire to protect yourself, you've come to the right place.

Choose Your Instructor Wisely

As the late Jeff Cooper once said, owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician. You should choose your firearms instructor like your life depends on it – because it does.

Research your instructor and the curriculum they teach. We are more than happy to discuss our qualifications with you, and if for some reason you decide not to go with us I'm okay with that.

Just promise me one thing: Promise me you won't put yourself and others at risk by cutting corners just to save a few bucks.

Deal?
